Initial jobless claims fall by 11,000 to slightly less than half a MILLION

Quin Hillyer rights for the The American Spectator and this article appeared today, he summarizes how many of us feel at this moment.

I really don’t know what to write. We have a president who is so divisive that two longstanding pollsters of his own party write that “President Obama’s divisive approach to governance has weakened us as a people and paralyzed our political culture.”

We have columnists for major newspapers who are so nastily partisan that they fail to do even the most basic of investigatory requirements before sliming good, honest, decent Americans such as Justice Department whistleblower J. Christian Adams.

We have congressmen so eager to play gotcha that they try to blame former presidents for failing to do a constitutional duty even when the well-reported facts are that the operatives for the president of the congressman’s own party unwittingly were the culprits in the supposed problem at issue. (Yeah, you won’t know what I’m talking about; that’s why you absolutely must read this link.)

We have a major congressional committee chairman who has conniption fits about not being given a $1 senior-citizen’s discount, but who won’t apologize for costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars by refusing for years to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. (He also didn’t seem too exercised about his boyfriend running a male prostitution ring out of his own basement, but that’s another story.)

We have writers for publications respected by the “mainstream” media who are so vicious and dishonest that they would suggest randomly throwing around charges of racism without a shred of evidence — a charge made the more despicable because one of the named victims of the smear happens to be one of the nicest, most decent people in all of Washington punditry or politics.

We have a national debt exploding so rapidly, by deliberate design of the president, that one almost believes he is trying to implement the Cloward-Piven strategy of manufactured crisis. Cause a political and economic cataclysm; use it as an excuse for radical executive orders and proto-martial law; that sort of thing. Again, I did say “almost.” But we are getting to a point where it almost doesn’t matter what the motivations are; the reality being created could have the same effect whether by intention or by autocratic reaction to the fruits of the leader’s own incompetence.

We have a president who may as well have declared war on my home state. Or on the whole central Gulf Coast.

We have a speaker of the House so cynical (or batty) that she says we must pass a bill first in order to know what’s in it, and a majority leader so accustomed to railroad jobs and internal autocracy that he actually makes fun of the idea of requiring that congressmen be allowed at least 72 hours to examine bills before voting on them.

We have Supreme Court nominees sailing through despite saying that genetic differences might make Latinas better judges (Sotomayor) and despite openly flouting the law to harm military recruiting in a time of war (Kagan), and despite wanting to rule that the Constitution forbids states from keeping currently incarcerated rapists and murderers from voting (Sotomayor) and despite manipulating both science and the law in order to keep the barbaric practice of partial birth abortion legal for another decade (Kagan). (Sorry, readers: I’m tired of providing links, but Google these things at the Washington Times and you’ll find them.)

I could go on with other bad news, but I’m tired. I’m dejected. I’m disgusted. I’m furious. I’m disheartened and disillusioned.

I want fair play and integrity and intellectual consistency and common decency from all points on the political spectrum. But those attributes are not as prevalent on the right as they should be, and it seems they are almost nonexistent on the left. I don’t mind honest and respectful disagreements; I am sickened by vicious attacks without substance.

And, dear reader, I assume you agree. I hate writing all these “I” sentences (yikes: I almost sound like Obama!), so let’s make this about you. What are you going to do about all this? What do you want to see happen? How much do you care about your country and your community?

If you are reading this, the answer to the questions in the last sentence is probably “one heck of a lot.” You care. You have aspirations for communities of freedom and comity. You want to stop all of these political horrors, and you want to stop cultural horrors not even touched upon here but that could take pages and pages of exposition. You want to believe in America. And, dare we say it without sounding too pie-in-the-sky, you want to do what Ronald Reagan said all good Americans want to do: “to dream heroic dreams.” And to work to make them reality.

So get to it. Keep up your activism. Talk to your neighbors. Volunteer at campaign headquarters. Contribute financially to candidates. Make phone calls. Go to rallies. Write thoughtful and concise letters to the editor. Help register like-minded voters. Drive elderly or infirm like-minded voters to the polls in November.

Get involved and stay involved. For the sake of your country, your loved ones, your future. Our future. Together. As Americans. Go do it. Now.

2011, the depression begins sponsered by Obama and his robots.

Posted in economics, Liberal, Obama, politics, Progressive, republican with tags , , , , , , on July 22, 2010 by middleclasshooligan

The following was taken from Investors.com (see link at end) I of course added my own special brand of whit to some of it.

Through the end of this year, the federal estate tax rate is zero thanks to the package of broad-based tax cuts that President Bush pushed through to get the economy going earlier in the decade.

But as of midnight Dec. 31, the death tax returns at a rate of 55% on estates of $1 million or more. The effect this will have on hospital life-support systems is already a matter of conjecture. Yes I’m sure some of you lefties are cheering..Yea screw thoughs rich people but how many of you understand that will destroy family farms and business? when you inherit a farm or business its considered in the tax’s you pay now…how many people will need to sell off what their family’s created to pay the tax?

Resurrection of the death tax, however, isn’t the only tax problem that will be ushered in Jan. 1. Many other cuts from the Bush administration are set to disappear and a new set of taxes will materialize. And it’s not just the rich who will pay.

The lowest bracket for the personal income tax, for instance, moves up 50%  to 15% from 10%. The next lowest bracket 25%  will rise to 28%, and the old 28% bracket will be 31%. At the higher end, the 33% bracket is pushed to 36% and the 35% bracket becomes 39.6%. Yup that’s right even the lowest tax payer will pay more……awe…..I thought Obama loved the poor?

But the damage doesn’t stop there.

The marriage penalty also makes a comeback, and the capital gains tax will jump 33% to 20% from 15%. The tax on dividends will go all the way from 15% to 39.6%  a 164% increase. That ok I suppose…I mean the left only likes gay couples and they can’t really be married.

Both the cap-gains and dividend taxes will go up further in 2013 as the health care reform adds a 3.8% Medicare levy for individuals making more than $200,000 a year and joint filers making more than $250,000. Other tax hikes include: halving the child tax credit to $500 from $1,000 and fixing the standard deduction for couples at the same level as it is for single filers.

Letting the Bush cuts expire will cost taxpayers $115 billion next year alone, according to the Congressional Budget Office, and $2.6 trillion through 2020.

But even more tax headaches lie ahead. This “second wave” of hikes, as Americans for Tax Reform puts it, are designed to pay for ObamaCare and include:

The Medicine Cabinet Tax. Americans, says ATR, “will no longer be able to use health savings account, flexible spending account, or health reimbursement pretax dollars to purchase nonprescription, over the counter medicines (except insulin).”

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. “This provision of ObamaCare,” according to ATR, “increases the additional tax on nonmedical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10% to 20%, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10%.

Brand Name Drug Tax. Makers and importers of brand-name drugs will be liable for a tax of $2.5 billion in 2011. The tax goes to $3 billion a year from 2012 to 2016, then $3.5 billion in 2017 and $4.2 billion in 2018. Beginning in 2019 it falls to $2.8 billion and stays there. And who pays the new drug tax? Patients, in the form of higher prices. What business is it of Obamas what meds I like to buy? We will all see the cost rise from this.

Economic Substance Doctrine. ATR reports that “The IRS is now empowered to disallow perfectly legal tax deductions and maneuvers merely because it judges that the deduction or action lacks ‘economic substance.’”

A third and final (for now) wave, says ATR, consists of the alternative minimum tax’s widening net, tax hikes on employers and the loss of deductions for tuition:

The Tax Policy Center, no right-wing group, says that the failure to index the AMT will subject 28.5 million families to the tax when they file next year, up from 4 million this year.

“Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly deduct, or ‘depreciate’) equipment purchases up to $250,000,” says ATR. “This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of 2011, all of it will have to be ‘depreciated.’”

According to ATR, there are “literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place,” plus the loss of some tax credits. The research and experimentation tax credit will be the biggest loss, “but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.”

The deduction for tuition and fees will no longer be available and there will be limits placed on education tax credits. Teachers won’t be able to deduct their classroom expenses and employer-provided educational aid will be restricted. Thousands of families will no longer be allowed to deduct student loan interest.

Then there’s the tax on Americans who decline to buy health care insurance (the tax the administration initially said wasn’t a tax but now argues in court that it is) plus a 3.8% Medicare tax beginning in 2013 on profits made in real estate transactions by wealthier Americans.

Not all Americans may fully realize what’s in store come Jan. 1. But they should have a pretty good idea by the mid-term elections, and members of Congress might take note of our latest IBD/TIPP Poll (summarized above).

Fifty-one percent of respondents favored making the Bush cuts permanent vs. 28% who didn’t. Republicans were more than 4 to 1 and Independents more than 2 to 1 in favor. Only Democrats were opposed, but only by 40%-38%.

The cuts also proved popular among all income groups despite the Democrats’ oft-heard assertion that Bush merely provided “tax breaks for the wealthy.” Fact is, Bush cut taxes for everyone who paid them, and the cuts helped the nation recover from a recession and the worst stock-market crash since 1929.

Maybe, just maybe, Americans remember that  and will not forget come November 2nd.

We can be racist….you cant….

Posted in economics, Liberal, Obama, politics, Progressive, republican on July 22, 2010 by middleclasshooligan

So one of Obama’s thugs admits to being racist to a white farmer and not helping him, which she by the way admitted at an NAACP meeting (they are racists dont ya know) she got fired for it and now they are worried that they fired her to fast.

Was Obama worried when he spoke about the white police officer and said he made a dumb mistake? even though he didn’t have any facts about what happened? nope….though he did hold that silly beer summit just to try and soothe his white voters.

Nope its pretty clear that Obama and his ivory tower elite are racist’s and they have the power to use it. So hows that hope and change working for you? is this what you wanted? Obama has divided this nation like no other president (maybe Lincoln accepted) ever has.

Do you honestly think the actions of this administration are helping this country?…..be honest now……of course not.

Claremont needs real men…..

Posted in politics, republican with tags , , , , on July 18, 2010 by middleclasshooligan

I wrote this a while ago and found it funny, I decided to post it for laughs.

So I go to my kids back to school night….holy bat shit…I’m not sure of what major malfunction has occurred that has brought Claremont to this sorry state of nearly zero real men but the low testosterone light is flashing on Claremont’s  dash. I have a few theory’s….stay with me here….

1. Martians went to Claremont and took all the real men away leaving only Birkenstock wearing Obama voters…..no?…hmm ok

2. The women of Claremont are so utterly threatened by a real man that they don’t allow them to live in the city limits…ooh that might work.

3. A giant chunk of San Francisco was torn free by a time/space anomaly and dropped in to Southern California….not bad….

4. A breeding program was set up in the late 60s in which small dogs and hippies were forced to pro create…..That’s damn close I think.

I think its all the liberal colleges in the area, its creating some sort of odd magnetic pull…..is Claremont sending out subliminal messages during top chef and top model commanding the lil guys who like that crap to move there? As for me hooligans…NO I dont live in Claremont, I would have been arrested by now for kicking some hippies ass………I hate hippies………

And no I didn’t wear my seatbelt today you statist tool revenuers (Yeah CHP Im looking at you).

On a side note, if you like AC/DC try Airbourne…they sound damn close, they are from Australia and are alot younger. They admit they are heavily influenced by AC/DC….thats a good thing.

First dog flys alone, and its vacation time

Posted in economics, motorcycles, politics, republican with tags , , , on July 17, 2010 by middleclasshooligan

I can say that my dogs have traveled with me in the car alot but never have I put a dog on a plane alone any where….never….I guess I need to have hope and change to fly my dogs on private jets. How much did that cost the tax payers?

In a few months we will have the largest tax raise in History hope your all ready for it, ya gotta love the 55% inheritance tax…so all the hard work and tax’s your relatives paid wasn’t enough now they will catch you on the back end when they die. Married couples lose a chunk of their right off as well as people with children, all the tax cuts we got under Bush are about to vanish. Wana bet where the economy go’s from here?

Its freaking hot here in north mexico..I mean Southern California, to damn hot. I hate this place, cant wait to move to someplace that’s cooler and has weather. Idaho most likely and I’m looking forward to that, maybe near Coeur D Alene.

Write this down….I predict in 2011 another dip in the economy, a huge recession, the stock market will go back to 8000, national unemployment will rise to 12%, and national debt will be 1.5 trillion to 2 trillion.  My advice, buy gold, get out of the market, if you own a house in a blue state and can sell Id do it. This is going to get ugly.

Back from a long trip in life, how things have changed

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on July 17, 2010 by middleclasshooligan

Well I’m back…..what a trip….metaphorical in nature but still a trip in life. My my how things have changed, I knew It wouldn’t take long for Obama to jack things up but he has surpassed my expectations greatly. The economy is in shambles, people with money wont spend it because they are trying to see what Osama…I mean Obama the lil dictator wants next, and it seems every right is under attack (just through all those amendments in the fire Obama thinks they are outdated)

I’m still driving without a seatbelt so the ticket I got has amortized well, I hope California spent my fine wisely…LOL who am I kidding.

Fantastic P.J. O’Rourke quote

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on September 29, 2009 by middleclasshooligan

“Back in London…one more person started in on the Stars and Stripes. Eventually he got, as the Europeans always do, to the part about ‘Your country’s never been invaded.’ (This fellow had been two during the Blitz, you see.) ‘You don’t know the horror, the suffering. You think that war is…’

“I snapped.

“A John Wayne movie’ I said. ‘That’s what you were going to say, isn’t it? We think war is a John Wayne movie-with good guys and bad guys, as simple as that. Well, you know something, Mister Limey Poofter? You’re right. And let me tell you who those bad guys are. They’re us. WE BE BAD.’

“We’re the baddest-assed sons of bitches that ever jogged in Reeboks. We’re three-quarters grizzly bear and two-thirds car wreck and descended from a stock market crash on our mother’s side. You take your Germany, France and Spain, roll them all together and it won’t give us room to park our cars. We’re the big boys, Jack, the original, giant, economy-sized, new and improved butt kickers of all time. When we snort coke in Houston, people lose their hats in Cap d’Antibes. And we’ve got an American Express credit card limit higher than your piss-ant metric numbers go.’

“You say our country’s never been invaded? You’re right, little buddy. Because I’d like to see the needle-dicked foreigners who’d have the guts to try. We drink napalm to get our hearts started in the morning. A rape and a mugging is our way of saying ‘Cheerio’. Hell can’t hold our sock-hops. We walk taller, talk louder, spit further, fuck longer, and buy more things than you know the names of. I’d rather be a junkie in a New York City jail than the king, queen, and jack of all you Europeans. We eat little countries like this for breakfast and shit them out before lunch.’

“Of course, the guy should have punched me. But this was Europe. He just smiled his shabby, superior European smile.”

Obama supporters praying to him….

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on September 29, 2009 by middleclasshooligan

Holy bat crap….this is just how far gone you turds on the left are….you are PRAYING to a man…a highly flawed man. DO some of you understand how close this is to Zeig Heil? just how close this is to Jim Jones Koolaide time?

Take a look at the video I posted to the right, watch it, listen to what they are saying. This smacks of a cult, the left has turned itself and its leaders in religious figures….this is why we jokingly call Berry the “messiah” because you idiots think he is….

If this doesn’t scare the crap out of you, if this doesn’t make you pause and really think just how truly mentally ill the left has become then you are devoid of the ability to reason.

Hows that hope and change working for ya?
